With less than two weeks to go, preparations for departure on February 9th are going fast and furiously.
Trying to arrange for folks who wish to contribute to the BLOG can do so. Will keep you posted!!!
- Choosing color for the official WORK TEE shirts and the TEAM polo shirts was a challenge, since we have nearly exhausted the color wheel, but I am pleased with the final choices.
- Then coming up with a SLOGAN for this year's team was the next challenge.
- Having my friends at Mikini Embroidery and Screen Printing in Sanford, Maine take care of the printing on the tees and the embroidery on the team shirts is all on schedule.
- Making sure I stopped by in time at Springvale Hardware to let the owner, Bruce Lamb, know how many pair of painters' work gloves we need. He has always been so supportive and generous in donating the work gloves for the team. These, incidentally, become the most coveted item of anything we take with us to work on the dam construction project. We also leave behind shoes, pants, shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, etc. for the local laborers alongside of whom we work during our construction phase.
- Checking on those whom we will meet from Mexico, Australia, the Yukon Territory in Canada, England and the USA, as well as India, making sure everyone brings his or her country's flag and perhaps a flag representing their state or territory, to display at the worksite.
- PACKING to make sure I also have enough clothing for the trip, and still able to carry all of the team shirts, gloves, etc.
- Designing the Name Tags and inserting the name badges into the Badge Holders, provided by EXIT Realty Corp, International
- Following up on conference calls, meetings, showings, closings, and leaving enough time for family lunches or dinners.
- Making sure I renew my driver's license before departure, since I will be mark another year (a milestone in the eyes of the DMV) and was required to take an eye test - scored 20-10, as usual.
- Preparing to host a service for ASH WEDNESDAY, which occurs on February 14th, shared with Valentine's Day. In past years, we have had great participation from people of all faiths and look forward to this again.
- Sending out the Last Minute Packing List and instructions to all of the Dream Team members.
- And finally, preparing for an amazing astronomical event - a BLUE MOON this evening - where there are two full moons within the same month, the Blue Moon being the second, and enjoying a SUPER MOON as well. Will try to get some photos to share.
